Amazon Open Orders

What is an Open Order on Amazon?

An open order on Amazon is an order that has been placed with Amazon and has not yet shipped. An open order can be canceled at any time prior to shipping. There is no financial penalty to you, since Amazon hasn’t paid for shipping and handling yet.

For example, if you placed an order for two of the same product, you can cancel the open order, or simply delete or modify the line item for the product you ordered too many.

What happens if I cancel an Open Order on Amazon?

If an order is canceled, Amazon will issue a refund for the purchase price of the canceled items. Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.

What about Amazon FBA?

If you are doing merchant fulfilled items through Amazon Seller Central, this means you still need to ship your product or make sure Amazon has the tracking number.

If you are enrolled in Amazon FBA, Amazon will ship the order when it is ready. There is nothing that you need to do. Simply wait and you should see the order move to a Shipped status.

How do I cancel an Open Order?

Simply login to Amazon, click on Your Orders, scroll to the order you wish to cancel and remove the item you want to cancel or the entire order.

What if I have an open pre-order?

If you have pre-ordered an item on Amazon, this will also show up as an Open Order until the item has become available and shipped to you. Until that point, you can decided to cancel the pre-order the same way as any other open order.

What if I still have questions about an open order?

If you have questions about your open order, you can contact Amazon customer service for assistance.

Hivearchive is a web-based application that helps Amazon FBA sellers track their sales and profits. It provides data analytics and visualization tools to help sellers understand their sales data and make better business decisions. Hivearchive also offers a Profit Tracker tool that helps sellers track their profits over time.
